Health & Fitness Tips
1. Exercise Regularly (with your doctor's permission) It's important for your health as well as the health of your baby. This will prevent unecessary weight gain, increase energy level, improve sleeping, reduce stress, improve self-esteem as well as prepare your body for a safe childbirth.2. Stick to no impact workouts - ie. dance, yoga, pilates, walking, swimming are great. 3. Listen to your body. Every woman is built differently and have different physical limitations. If you were very active prior to pregnancy, chances are you can physically still do a lot while pregnant. This is not the time to push yourself. Do what feels comfortable on your body4. Drink lots of water, especially when you are exercising. Don't let your body overheat. 5. Take your prenatal vitamins, as well as DHA supplements which helps with your baby's brain development6. Eat 5 small meals a day, instead of 3 large meals. It help you deal with morning sickness, nausea or heartburn, or perhaps to help you maintain an even blood-glucose level throughout the day.7. Eat a balanced diet with the adequate calories, protein, vitamins and minerals. An extra 300 calories/day is recommended. 8. Don't let your cravings get out of control. Remember that what you eat can and will affect the health of your baby. 9. Get plenty of rest. Don't feel guilty if you sleep 10-12 hours a night or if you feel like having an afternoon nap. It's healthy and your body needs it.10. Embrace your ever growing curvy figure. It's one of the most beautiful times in a woman's life. It's a time to celebrate!!!
